Sounds Of Cannon, the newest of new-comers among Alternative bands around Charlotte’s music scene, left an everlasting impression during its recent Battle of the Bands appearance. This very group managed to draw-in a dynamic crowd, as a result of its impressive performance, and despite the fact that most in attendance seemed rather partial to the Heavy Metal genre. Nevertheless, this Alternative dynamo-of-a-group managed to land a spot in the final round of the Gorilla Music Battle of the Bands.
In the meantime, the group will enjoy opening for two other locally-acclaimed groups at this Wednesday night’s Alternative show-case, with Heyrocco and Ambrosial. The event will go down at Charlotte’s Tremont Music Hall. The doors will open at 7:30 p.m., with the first set beginning at 8:30 pm. Tickets will be available at the door for $8 to $10.
SOC is led by, no other than, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Luke Rodgers. Rodgers is accompanied by lead guitarist, James Huckins, bass guitarist and back-up vocalist, Justice Ian Jones, and by Christian Smith on Drums.
During an interview with Luke Rodgers, he went on to say: “We are all 19 and just graduated from the same high school, last year, and we’ve been playing shows, since November, where we were the headliner for the Evening Muse open-mic night…” With those facts considered, it was amazing to witness the crowd’s reception, as a result of this group’s stellar performance.
Currently, the group is scheduled to record and release its new EP, “The Lake,” which will also be released for free download. Until then, the group will battle through the second round of the Gorilla Music Battle of the Bands, which is scheduled for July 12—stay tuned for more on Sounds Of Cannon and other amazing groups, around Charlotte’s music scene!
