SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III is another masterpiece for Bose

On Thursday, Fry's electronics started carrying the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III and although the price is steep at $299, the product is well worth it. Both the sound and design are top-notch.

In 2011, we reviewed the first Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker and declared it as the best of its kind. However, almost three years later, the product sounds like rubbish when compared to the SoundLink III, which sounds more clear, more crisp, and doesn't distort as much at loud volumes.

At 5 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 2 inches deep, the SoundLink III isn't as portable as the amazing SoundLink Mini, but for only $100 more, it's a much better buy. It has twice as many drivers and filters that drive the sound throughout the the room and your whole body. The SoundLink Mini is excellent for filling a space with sound, such as an office cubicle. But the SoundLink III can easily fill a whole room or even a small office.

Unfortunately, Bose requires you to buy an optional cover to protect the unit from scratches and other nasty things. You would think Bose would be nice enough and include the cover with a unit that costs a lot more than similar Bluetooth speakers, but there is no such luck. Still the cover does add a lot of style and makes the unit easier to grip.

Some people still think that Bose sells overpriced junk. The SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III is the final nail in the coffin for that kind of thought.
