Seattle Sounders FC (5-2-1) offense showed up on Saturday and the result was a much needed 4-1 home victory over the Colorado Rapids.

UMNT team captain Clint Dempsey had a brace in the game bringing his league leading goal tally to eight.

Dempsey ‘s first goal was two minutes into the second half to give FC Sounders a 2-0 lead and his second goal five minutes later ensured FC Sounders were assured of a much need home win.
Dempsey has scored or given out an assist in seven straight games.

“It’s the team , it’s not just me and Oba, it’s about quick passes, quick transition from the point of attack in midfield and us getting the ball in good position,” Dempsey said after the game.

Other Sounders to score in the game included Lamar Neagle and Obefami Martins.
Neagle scored right before half time to give Seattle Sounders FC a 1-0 advantage going into the dressing room.

Colorado Rapids Dillion Serna spoiled the shut out with a slicing run that ended with the ball in the back of Seattle Sounders FC net in the 62 minute.

The home win was much needed in that Seattle Sounders FC had lost their last two home games.
“It was fantastic we talked about rewarding our fans, our fans are fantastic and we had not given them anything to cheer about in our last two games. “Although we had no played poorly we did not get the results we were looking for today we did," SounderFC Coach Sigi Schmid said after the game.

This was the Colorado Rapids ( 3-2-2) first road loss in the last four games.
Coming into the game Colorado allowed just eight goals in six games
Game notes:
Seattle is now 9-2-2 against Colorado in regular season games played.
Seattle ‘s next two games will be at home may 3rd vs Philadelphia Union and May 7th against FC Dallas.
