The Seattle Sounders FC (13-7-2,41pts) will be looking for goals and and a much needed win when they take on the San Jose Earthquakes (6-9-6,24pts) 7 p.m. wednesday night on the XBox Pitch at Century Link Field. Sounders FC are 2-3 in their last five games and just 1-3 in there last four MLS games. Sounders FC last win was 6-0 US Open Cup victory over the Houston Dynamo at the Star Fire Center. Sounders FC last MLS win was a 2-0 vicotry over the Portland Timbers on July 13th at home.

Wednesday's game against the Earthquakes will be the third and final regualr season match between the two sides with each team sporting a 1 Nil win at home.Sounders FC will have plenty of motivation besides wining the season series against the Earthquakes. A win on wednesday would put them back on top of the Western Conference and the overall record in MLS.

For Sounders FC to regain there swagger they will need to get back to usign teh wide areas of the field , spreadging out opponents defenses and finding Clint Demspey , Obefami Martins and Kenny Cooper upfront. Seattle offense has become stangant and as a result Sounders FC have been outscored 6-1 in there last three MLS losses.

After Saturdays loss to Real Salt Lake ,Sounders FC Coach Sigi Schmid was adamant about his teams need to improve on it's offensive play, "We’ve got to connect to get ourselves into a good rhythm early and to get Clint [Dempsey] into a good rhythm early,” said Schmid. “Afterwards, he picked up the ball more in midfield, we changed into a 3-5-2 for like the last six, seven minutes. At the end of the day, today, it just wasn’t enough.

Sounders FC offense should get a much needed boost from Obafemi Martins and possibily Marco Pappa. Martins will return to the starting line up missing the RSL game due to a red card suspension. Pappa missed the RSL match as well and his absence was due to a hamstring strain.

San Jose is coming off the teams worst defeat in team history, a 5-0 defeat to FC Dallas.“I'm going to be looking at everything. I thought it was a very poor performance. I thought we started poorly, which is unacceptable at home,” said Quakes head coach Mark Watson. “Defensively, that game was unacceptable; you can't defend like that at this level and expect to get any kind of result..” Before Saturdays lost to FC Dallas , San Jose was undefeated( 2 wins -2 ties) in it's last four games.
