The Seattle Sounders FC beat MLS defending champions Sporting Kansas City 1-0 at CenturyLink Field in there first game of the 2014 season. An home opening day crowd of 39,240 witnessed late second half substitute Chad Barrett hit a right footed shot that found the back of the Sporting net in the fourth minute of extra time." We kept on fighting and I was happened to be at the right place at the right time, "said Barrett of his game winner. Barrett replaced starter Kenny Cooper in the 78 minute. Clint Dempsey another second half substitute was given an assist on Barretts game winning goal.The Seattle Sounders are now 4-2 on season home openers and upped there regular season record against KC to seven straight wins. In the seven wins Seattle has scored five stoppage time winners ."
