Chivas USA were missing forward Erik Torres, fourth in MLS in goals scored due to Saturday's Mexican national team call up. Carlos Bocanegra Captain and former USNMT player was also missing from the Chivas line up and more importantly from a defense that has been leaking goals faster than the Titanic leaked water in it's fateful voyager.

Rose had his second goal of the game and season four minutes later when he directed a Brad Evans free kick into the back of the net to give Seattle the 4-0 lead. The Evans pass to Rose was his third assist in the first half tying him for the MLS record for assists in one half. "Obviously it's a big deal for us to be able to get nine points in three games at this stage of the season is invaluable, especially with the quick turnaround and travel, "Evans said after the game.
