Seattle Sounders FC (10-3-2, 32 points) continued their dominance of the Chicago Fire(2-4-8,14 points) in their 3-2 victory at Toyota Park.

The Fire have never beaten the Sounders in their history and it looked business as usual early in Saturdays match.

Sounders FC forward Obefami Martins scored the first of his two goals in the 31st when he collected a deflected Brad Evans pass inside the Chicago goal box and promptly fired the shot past Fire goal keeper Sean Johnson.

Martins completed his brace of the game 6 minutes late when he converted a penalty kick he earned after being fouled by former Sounder Jhon Kennedy Huratdo for a two footed challenge in the box.

Hurtado was given his second yellow of the game meaning the Fire where down to ten men and facing a 2 goal deficiet after 37 minutes of play.

The gloom and despair was shot lived as Chicago rookie sensation Chris Ship took a Quincy Amarikwa pass and slotted a low shot past Sounders FC goal keeper Stefan Frei to breath life and belief to the ten man Fire who saw there deficiet cut down to one goal

Life and belief turned into reality when Sounders FC Obefami Martins was shown a straight red card for fighting and both teams finished the first half playing with ten men and Sounders FC holding a slim 2-1 lead.

The second half was no different from the first, both teams where chippy, aggressive, and physical despite the space created on the pitch by the ejections.

Lamar Neagle gave the Sounders some breathing room when he made it 3-1 in the 78 minute. It was Neagle’s fifth goal of the season.
As he had done in the first half ,Chicago’s Chris Shipp brought fire and belief four minutes later when he beat Stefani Frei to make it 3-2 with 82 minutes left to play.
Frei made amends when he stopped the Fire’s Juan Luis Anangono in the 88th minute at point blank range.
