Several NASCAR drivers will make the trip to Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 8 and 9, 2010, for the fifth-annual Sound & Speed festival to race money for the Victory Junction Gang Camp and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Drivers and country music singers, alike, will constantly be added to the roster of celebrity appearances up until the event, but the early list includes Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Petty, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Reed Sorenson, and David Stremme.
Petty even plans to bring his band and is scheduled to perform on the first night of the event.
Friday evening festivities will include two shows at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. In addition to Petty's band, other scheduled performers include Hank Williams Jr. and Chris Young.
Saturday's schedule includes appearances by NASCAR drivers and country music artists at Municipal Auditorium. The celebrities will sign autographs, tell some stories, and participate in question-and-answer sessions. The even will also include show car displays and a charitable auction of racing and music memorabilia.
Aside from Williams and Young, other country artists already on the list of participants include Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Turner, and members of Diamond Rio.
Tickets for the Ryman shows on Friday night range in cost from $32 to $54. Tickets for Saturday are $20 for adults and $12 for children. They can be purchased at ticketmaster.com and opry.com.
