The hills are alive with a Centerstage production of The Sound of Music, which opens tomorrow night.

The Sound of Music will take place on May 8, 10, 12, 15, and 17 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Shows on May 11 and 18 are to go on at 2 and 7 p.m. each day. All performances will happen at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville, located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane near the Highlands.

Tickets for each show are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. Keep in mind some shows have already sold out. Tickets can be purchased at JCC, the Centerstage website, or by calling 502-238-2709.

The Sound of Music is a renowned Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that focuses on the Von Trapp family in Austria. Maria is a nun who becomes the governess of the Von Trapp family, which includes seven very problematic children. With music and singing, Maria and the Von Trapp family, including the stern Captain, happily come together. However, the happiness will quickly change under the backdrop of Nazis coming into Austria, and the Von Trapp family will have to make their escape.

More information on the show can be found at the Centerstage website.
