There has been a whirlwind of concert news blowing through Central Iowa the past two days, including news about shows from Soul Asylum, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Fleetwood Mac, Clutch, and more. Here is a look at what you may have missed.
Wooly's in Des Moines will host Soul Asylum on Thursday, March 21 for an 9 p.m. show. No opening band has been announced, as of yet. The show will be a 21-and-older event, and tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 the day of the concert. They will go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning through Ticketfly.
Wooly's also announced that Clutch will take the stage in their venue on Thursday, April 11. This will be a 7:30 p.m. show with openers Orange Goblin, Lionize, and Kyng. This will be an all ages event, and tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. They will also go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly.
Vaudeville Mews announced that country artist Jake McVey will take the Mews stage on Friday, February 1. The show will start at 7:30 p.m., and be an all ages event. Tickets will be $15 at the door. No openers have been announced yet for this show.
The Iowa Events Center announced that Taylor Swift will be playing Wells Fargo Arena on August 1 at 7 p.m. BRIT Award winning singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran will be the opening act. Tickets will go on sale at the Wells Fargo box office and all Dahl's Ticket locations starting on Friday, February 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets will range in price from $31.50 to $86.50.
Wells Fargo will also host Fleetwood Mac on Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, February 2 at 10 a.m. at the Wells Fargo box office and through Dahl's Tickets outlets. Ticket prices will range from $49 to $149.
Also announced for Wells Fargo is a Kenny Chesney concert for Saturday, April 27. There has been no ticket information announced yet for this concert
Finally, LAZER 103.3 FM (KAZR) has announced the preliminary lineup for LAZERfest 2013. LAZERfest 2013 will take place on 2 stages at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone on Friday, May 10th. The bands announced so far include Alice in Chains, Papa Roach, Volbeat, Sick Puppies, Halestorm, Device, All That Remains, Asking Alexandria, Young Guns, and Thousand Foot Krutch. LAZER's "Battle of the Bands" winner will join that lineup. Tickets go on sale today to the LAZER TNA email subscribers for $29.99 (plus fees). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 1 at 10 a.m., and they will then be $35 (plus fees). Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster.
