The Summerland Tour, which is now in its third year, is a throwback to '90s rock, as in the past it has featured such acts as Gin Blossoms, Lit, Sugar Ray, Marcy Playground, Live, Filter, and Sponge.
This time around may be the tour's best lineup yet, with performances scheduled by Soul Asylum, Everclear, Eve 6 and Spacehog.
Soul Asylum, which features Dave Pirner (guitar/vocals), Michael Bland (drums), Winston Roye (bass) and Justin Sharbono (guitar), is currently in the studio wrapping up work on an album of all new material produced by the band and John Fields.
As for Everclear, the band is excited for its third go-round on Summerland.
"This tour just seems to get better and better every year. Both the bands and the fans are starting to connect with the name Summerland. It seems like it's becoming synonymous with '90s alternative rock," said Everclear frontman Art Alexakis.
This year's Summerland Tour kicks off on June 13 in Pompano Beach, Florida, and commences on Aug. 9 in Toledo, Ohio.
Summerland will be making two New York stops this year, the first coming June 19 at Irving Plaza in New York City, and the second being June 22 at Huntington's Paramount.
