“Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”. Berthold Auerbach
Music is truly good for the soul. Everyone has their favorite genre. It doesn’t matter what genre it is, if it makes you feel good it must be good for you. Well, obviously some of the darker music about murder, death, and suicide wouldn’t be good. That’s just common sense. If that’s what you like you have some issues that you need to deal with so that you can live a happy life.
There are several bands that have been around for twenty plus years and they are still producing good music. Many have been through their drug rehabilitation and such; however, many musicians fifty and older are looking fit and having fun. How awesome it is when you can make money doing what you love. Even better when doing what you love means so much too so many people. Making people feel good, making people feel energetic, and making people smile is a good business.
Let’s take a look at a couple of veteran music makers. Aerosmith and AC/DC.
Also known as the ‘boys from Boston’, Aerosmith formed as a band in 1970. They signed with Columbia Records in 1972 and have a list of multi-platinum albums to their name. Band members now range in age from 57 to 61. The oldest being Steven Tyler, and what an agile and good looking sixty-one he is. We are going to share a few videos of Aerosmith’s 43 years in the rock’n’roll biz.

Next let’s take a look at the Australian born and bred AC/DC. The band originated back in 1974 with lead singer Bon Scott. In 1980 Scott died at the young age of 33 and shortly after Brian Johnson filled his shoes. Johnson was a great fit for the band and AC/DC’s first album with him, ‘Back in Black’, became the 2nd best-selling album worldwide. These rockers have been selling out concerts for thirty-nine years. Band members range in age from 55 to 65 and their energy is phenomenal!

No matter what your music choice is; whether it is country, oldies, rap, or rock’n’roll on any level, just listen to your heart’s content. Soothe the savage beast in yourself or release it.
