Two new models of the PlayStation 3 were unveiled in Japan. Not only are they super slim models, but they also come in two colors: red and blue (the new models can be seen in the video below in the article). This was originally reported by Luke Karmali for IGN on Jan 22.
The two models—currently named Garnet Red and Azurite Blue—will be available for a limited time only starting on Feb. 28. They will start at ¥24,980, which equals about $250.
Both systems will come with 250GB internal memory and matching DualShock controllers—just as their older, black and white siblings do.
There hasn’t been a an announcement for an American/European release, but the same happened when the white PS3 model was unveiled last year. It was revealed this week that the white model would be arriving in North America soon.
“We've reached out to Sony for comment on whether the newly unveiled SKUs will be coming West and whether Europe and Australia will ever see the white model,” Karmali writes. Presumably, no word has come yet.
