Sony teases a potential PlayStation 4 reveal in February

Sony launched a new page on their site on Thursday teasing the potential reveal of the latest member in the PlayStation family. Entitled "Meeting 2013," the page is little more than a video teasing an announcement that something will be revealed on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:00 PM PST.

With both Sony and Microsoft expected to launch new video game consoles by the end of the year, there is lots of postulating that this is going to be the long-awaited reveal of Orbis, the codename for the next generation Sony machine. With this year's E3 expected to be one of the most exciting in the past few years, Sony is starting the hype train early to get people excited for the potential release. If that is the case, this is also Sony's way of getting ahead of Microsoft in terms of mind share regardless of which machine comes out first.

Members of the gaming press have started to receive invitations to the event on the same day in New York City. Expect to hear more rumors and speculation as the date draws closer.
