At this year’s E3 conference, Sony has a 1.2 hour press conference scheduled on June 15th. As a huge fan of everything Playstation, I have serious concerns for what this year’s conference might show.
Last year, Sony brought some serious thunder. They opened up with a live demo of a brand new single player level from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. And man was it long and awesome. Sony showed Drake climbing through derailed buildings, gazing upon huge open vistas and skylines and battling one annoying helicopter, all in one intense battle.
Then Sony showed some new IP’s in the works, such as Modnation Racers, and the as-of-yet seen Agent. They also showed for the first time a full 256 player battle in MAG. Sony also had big third party support from Ubisoft, exclusively showing off Assassin’s Creed 2 on the Playstation 3.
But when they closed last year’s show, they ended with a bloody bang. Santa Monica Studio took the stage and did a live demo of God of War 3. The crowd was awed from gory battles and absolutely mind blowing visuals.
Now, all of these awesome games that I just mentioned are already out (with the exception of Rockstars Agent). God of War 3 ended the trail of greatness that Sony set off at last year’s E3. A lot is still unknown about this year’s press conference and that is what is worrisome. I know the Playstation Move will be there, because it was unveiled at last year’s conference and it is scheduled to release this Fall, so it makes sense that things will be showed with the Move. But Sony is making a huge mistake if they make this year’s conference concentrate on gimmicks such as motion control and 3D technology.
Last year, Sony destroyed any competition in regards of software-Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Infamous, Heavy Rain, and MAG. But now, what do Playstation 3 fans have to look forward to? The never ending release date of Gran Turismo 5? The surprise-MMO FF14?
I’m going to try to stay optimistic about this year’s conference. Maybe all of the unknown will produce serious surprises, which would be a great thing. Playstation 3 suit and tie guy, Jack Tretton, said that at this year’s E3, some serious things would be announced. I have faith. Probably too much faith for Killzone 3, Resistance 3 and Infamous 2, but hey, I can dream.

not 1 dlc pack and a poor slow and boring racing game. how dare they call themselves a game company.,..

who really cares about david jaffes new game he has been screwing with his fan boys for way to long just come out and say that he is making a twisted metal we all get the hype by now...and with all of this build up it will just be a bigger let down..Now sonys conference everyone can post their speculations and there "sources that they get all there rumors"but the article is 100 percent true sony is silent not saying anything...and we will just have to wait. and yes alex c I think the writer has some idea about what he is writing about..posting rumors on twitter FTW
