Sony's PlayStation event will be livestreamed

Sony confirmed that their PlayStation Meeting on Feb. 20, 2013, will be livestreamed over the Internet, Martin Gaston for Gamespot writes on Feb. 4.

Information about how, where, and when to watch the livestream will be made available in the next few days. The actual Playstation meeting will be taking place in New York City on Feb. 20 at 6 P.M. EST, 3 P.M. PST, and 11 P.M. GMT. “Gamespot will be in attendance,” Gaston noted.

Rumors have been bouncing around the past few days—since the event was announced—about whether or not this is where Sony will be unveil their new PlayStation 4 console. Microsoft, on the other hand, is planning an Apple-style event in March. “Apple announcements are usually private events rarely streamed in public, though the company did broadcast its most recent announcement of the iPad Mini,” Gaston remarks.

And in terms of the PlayStation 4 in general, there have been numerous rumors: everything from Sony dropping the DualShock controller in favor of a move-favored LCD screen, to rumors that the price may be lower than $400.
