Sony's PlayStation 4 has become this years "must have" device for gamers everywhere. With massive hype and early success upon launch in every respected region, it seems there is no slowing down the PlayStation 4 hype train.

Knowing this, the question beckons at just how large of a yield this hype has brought Sony. The answer is astounding; 2.1 million units shipped, world wide, since launch. These numbers tie in last weeks remaining sales figures, putting the PlayStation 4 as the top seller of the season.

There has been no final sales data from either Microsoft or Nintendo outside of the initial launch day figures. Be sure to check back once both companies make those figures available.
