With only one month away until the PS4 hits shelves all across the country, Sony gives gamers a little reminder of how they’ve been with us over the years. The new advert, inspired by hashtag #playstationmemories, is a nostalgic trip through the life of a young gamer in Britain. Starting with the original Playstation, he upgrades as he gets older to the PS2, PS3, and, finally, the PS4.
A great attention to detail has been paid to something that’s only 3 and a half minutes long, only reinforcing the message that Sony wants to tell: That the PS4 is a gaming machine, for gamers.
A nice touch is how the camera periodically focuses on the outside world through the window, showing us how the city evolves, before going back around to room to show how our young gamer has personally matured.
And, of course, the scenes of our young gamer gaming had this reporter grinning. After all, who doesn’t remember being 11 years old and beating on their friends in Tekken, or scaring the crap out of each other playing Resident Evil 4 in the dark?
Of course, at the very end, there’s a sneak peek at the machine of the future; the PS4 itself.
Got a lot of memories with the Playstation? Watch the advert yourself and share in the nostalgia.
