Sony's E3 reveals for PS4 will be broadcast to theaters in the US and Canada

Sony announced details Wednesday on its E3 press conference for June 9 where it will show off the latest in gaming for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita. The company is going big this year, as in big screen. That’s right, those lucky enough to live near certain cities around the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to watch Sony’s E3 press conference live at a movie theater.

GameTrailers TV’s Geoff Keighley will host the Playstation E3 Experience on Monday, June 9 at 8:30 p.m. EDT / 5:30 p.m. PDT. The event will be simulcast in HD to more than 40 theaters in the United States and Canada with an additional 30 minutes of extra game footage and developer interviews.

The movie theater simulcast is free to attend but space is limited. Those interested in signing up should head to http://eventgrid.com/Custom/playstatione3 and RSVP as soon as possible. You can check out the full list of participating theaters at the PS Blog.

If you’re unable to make it to a movie theater or E3 in person, Sony has you covered there. The E3 press conference will be streamed live on the Playstation Blog, Playstation.com and Ustream.tv/playstation. There’s no word on if there will be a way to watch the event directly from your PS4, PS3 or PS Vita but you should be able to point the device’s web browser to one of the listed locations.

This year’s E3 is shaping up to be an interesting one for Sony. With the recent announcement that “The Order: 1886” for the PS4 was delayed into early 2015, the company doesn’t have much left in the way of exclusives for the console for the rest of the year. What new games and devices will it show to get gamers excited about the next year of gaming? Will we see the Project Morpheus Virtual Reality headset? We’ll have to tune in to find out.
