When it comes to the Sony PS4 vs. Xbox One debate, one thing is clear, and that is the cost of the new Playstation 4 makes it a strong choice for gamers. With the new console wooing many at the recent E3 conference in California, Sony may be finding their PS4 pre-orders are outnumbering those for the new Xbox.
A June 10 report from Engadget.com indicates that the new PS4 by Sony was made available for pre-order at Amazon.com's site for $399. The item has a scheduled release date of Dec. 31 this year, about a month following the Xbox One. The new Xbox is also available for pre-order at Amazon's site. Currently, as seen in the image above, the Sony Playstation 4 has been getting more pre-orders than Xbox One on the Amazon site, which could be an indication of the more popular choice, for now.
In addition to Amazon, other retailers have started to offer Playstation 4 on pre-order. They include GameStop and Best Buy, who both would love to jump in on the holiday shopping frenzy for the next generation game consoles. While Target doesn't have the item on pre-order yet, they do have a page set up where they are hinting at the arrival of the new console. Walmart's site has also jumped in with a $399 pre-order price tag to join the mix of retailers.
It's unclear just who will win the war, as there's a long way to go with these new innovations in the video game world. Many are applauding Sony for the fact they aren't putting restrictions on used games with their device, but one would think the cost is a serious "point maker" when comparing PS4 vs. Xbox One. However, some do point out that a Kinect is part of the deal with the new Xbox, so factor that into your decisions.
Do you think that Sony's PS4 is the new game system to get, or will you be more interested in Xbox One?
