Do you remember the time of the great Atari video game burial in 1983? Well, hypothetically, Sony might as well start doing that with there PS4's because they are not going to sell with there new patent they just put through!
According to Sony, they have added a patent to there new design that will add a RFID chip to be placed on every video game disc! But what does that mean for you? Basically, when you put your game into the system, it locks it together! You and all of your friends will never again be able to trade and borrow PS4 games from each other. That's right, no more buying used games at Gamestop, Best Buy, or Toys R Us! So if you plan on buying a PS4 in the future, just make sure you remember what this patent is doing.
But like Shanklish, a writer from At7addak.com, I wonder what will happen if and when your PS4 breaks down and stops working? Will you have to go re-buy all your games over again or will the RFID chip have some sort of secret power to it that will know that your original system crashed? Or what happens if you have a problem with the PS4 and you need to take it to Geek Squad? Will Geek Squad have a special formatted disc that will work on every PS4?
What do you happen think about this? Is this the fall to SONY? Please comment below on all of your thoughts about this!
