Original Film and Sony Pictures are currently casting actors and extras for the upcoming big screen version of the 1980s cop show that helped kick off Johnny Depp's career -- "21 Jump Street." The film's main stars are being cast in Los Angeles, while smaller roles, extras, stand-ins and photo doubles will be hired the in the New Orleans and Shreveport, Louisiana areas throughout filming.
The "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" directing duo, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will direct "21 Jump Street" from a screenplay originally written by Michael Bacall, with Jonah Hill doing some tune-ups on the script.
The film stars the beautiful and talented Brie Larson, who plays Kate Gregson on the Showtime series "United States of Tara." Also co-starring are Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco (the younger brother of actor James Franco).
