Sony making a casual Star Wars MMO?

Could a second Star Wars MMO be coming?

Reporting from the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), Ten Ton Hammer reports that Sony Onine Entertainment is working with LucasArts on a new, possibly browser-based Star Wars MMO based in the Clone Wars setting. This being a holiday weekend, we won't be able to get confirmation (or a denial) for a few days, but the rumor seems based on sound reasoning.

Sony has access to the Free Realms web-based engine, which could work for a casual game based on the Clone Wars animated series, for example. Bioware's in-progress Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO will be a more serious endeavor, with higher quality graphics and a full game install. A small footprint casual game could easily fit into the market, especially if it was targeted at younger players and female players.

Time will tell if this rumor has a basis in reality, but for now it's interesting speculation to discuss over the holiday weekend.
