As reported by IGN, Sony has announced an event taking place TODAY, at 6 p.m. EST. Last week rumors about the PS4 controller surfaced, and initial photos were made available showing a test version of the controller. Of note, the controller is supposed to support touch functionality like the PS Vita, and there is also speculation about the LEDs mounted near the top of the controller, which may lead to integration with the Move peripheral. What this may mean is that Sony is on the verge of the announcement, and is trickling info out around the net to keep the fans and media palpitating.
This is good timing too, because Sony has been putting their name in the news quite a bit lately, which if all indications are correct, would mean they're generating the buzz needed to pull off this reveal. While the PS4 reveal seems imminent, quite a few forum posts and comments have also referenced a possible announcement regarding the Vita. News speculation has talked about some form of integration between the Vita and PS4, so if Sony intends to make all of this happen without a hitch, a price drop seems imminent. Well gamers, if you'd like to check out this event, here is a link to the page Sony has set up for the live meeting this evening.

There are some other promotional videos as well, which hint at where Sony is headed. Enjoy!
