In September 2009 Sony announced the launch of the Ss Xperia X2. It was to be launched by the end of 2009 but Sony Ericsson delayed the Xperia X2 to work out some technical glitches. No date has officially been released but insiders have said that the Xperia X2 will be launched by the end of January 2010.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 uses Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro but will also boast a customer user interface. The XPERIA panel user interface is based on different panels, each focused on a different activity.
To help you stay organized and not miss any new information the Xperia X2 also features the SlideView feature. SlideView summarizes any incoming missed calls, emails or text messages.
The display uses a TFT resistive touchscreen with 65K colors. The display size is slighty larger than the 3.0 inch screen of the Xperia X1 at 3.2 inches. It offers a full QWERRTY keyboard, optical trackpad, XPERIA panel user interface and accelerometer sensor for switching view orientation.
The camera is impressive at 8.1 MP and includes touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilizer and smart contrast. Users will also be able to hook up the phone to a larger display using a TV-out port. There are few phones on the market that can boast specs like that.
The size and weight of the X2 is not much different than other smart phones on the market today at 110 x 54 x 16 mm and 155 g.
