Sony engaging in rehashing?

Sony has a rather strong staple of exclusives to hit in 2012.  Another game may be soon to join the list.  It seems that a Little Big Planet kart racer is in the works.  Baltimore gamers have already been subjected to Modnation Racers on the PS3, why would Sony make a similar game based around everyone’s favorite sack boy?

The Little Big Planet kart racer boasts the same mantra as the original platformers.  “Play” “Create” Share” is still intact in this racing spinoff.  Modnation Racers already instituted these ideas back in May of 2010, what could possibly be different this time around?  The loose physics of the platforming titles would not work well in a racing game.  Racing needs to feel tight and smooth.  The physics from Little Big Planet are rather floaty, and should not be implemented in a racer of any sort.

Nothing is known about the game at all.  All of Sony’s first party studios are currently working on something, so this new game must be being developed by a third party.  Who knows whether or not this developer knows how to Little Big Planet and kart racers come together.

Sony seems to be running out of games to develop as of right now.  First there was the fighter that is supposedly similar to Smash Bros, and now there is a kart racer that emphasizes the exact same concepts as another Sony made title.  Hopefully this new Little Big Planet will not be as it seems.
