According to former Calgary Flames General Manager Craig Button in a report for TSN on Tuesday, two sons of former Calgary Flames are expected to be drafted very high at the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Sam Reinhart, the son of former Calgary Flame Paul Reinhart is expected to go first overall, with William Nylander, the son of former Calgary Flame Michael Nylander, expected to be drafted third overall.
Sam Reinhart is a center for the Kootenay Ice who had 35 goals and 50 assists in 72 games in 2012-13, while William Nylander, a left winger, actually played with his father last season on Sodertalje SK of the Swedish Elite League and had four goals and two assists in eight games.
Paul Reinhart played for the Atlanta Flames/Calgary Flames from 1979-1988, while Michael Nylander played for the Flames from 1993-1999.
Two other players with Calgary connections are also expected to be drafted in the first round. Calgary native Brayden Point, a center of the Moose Jaw Warriors, is ranked 12th and Jake Virtanen, a right winger for the Calgary Hitmen, is ranked 26th.
