Fans of the hit TV show “Sons of Anarchy” are used to seeing the characters being evil and unscrupulous. The show took it to a whole new level on the October 22 episode of SOA, on the FX channel. This time the evil streak came from Jax’s wife, Tara.
Tara, played by Maggie Siff, has been letting her hatred of her mother-in-law, Jemma, played by Katey Sagal, become even more and more apparent this season. Tara would like nothing more than to get her two young children away from the town of Charming and the life of the motorcycle gang her husband is President of.
While Tara plays the part of devoted wife and loving daughter-in-law in front of Jax, played by Charlie Hunnam, she also connives on the sidelines to keep Gemma away from Jax and her grandchildren. Tara’s plots become more and more involved.
Tara had recently announced to Gemma and Jax that she was expecting a baby. Jax was over joyed to be told that they would finally have a baby girl to go with their two sons. Tara used the so called pregnancy to explain away her moods and stress, all the while plotting to share her true evil side.
Fans watched in shock and horror as Tara staged a fight with Jemma to make it look like Jemma attacked her. Jemma could only look on in shock as Tara flung herself against a table top to inflict severe bruising on her stomach. She had even hidden a packet of her own blood inside her dress, so it would break and ooze her own blood to look like a miscarriage.
How could she carry out such an elaborate yet evil plan? Let’s not forget that Tara is a highly regarded doctor and has a great friend at the hospital that is willing to help her out at all costs. As Tara lay moaning and crying for Jax, Jemma is hauled off to jail for the attack. That’s part one of Tara’s evil plan.
Jax arrives to comfort his wife who he believes has just lost their baby daughter, due to Jemma’s attack. Tara has already had her lawyer draw up papers to remove all of Jemma’s grandparent rights to see the two boys. Playing the devastated mother, she convinces Jax to sign the papers, even though he has yet to talk to Jemma about what happened.
This is the ultimate battle between a wife and a mother and it appears that Jax has sided with his wife and the mother of his children. Tara believes that Jemma is too evil to be a good grandmother to the two little boys. It seems to be a bit of the pot talking about the kettle, wouldn’t you say?
Tune into next week’s episode of the “Sons of Anarchy” on Tuesdays night at 10 p.m. ET on the FX channel as Jax confronts Jemma and promises that she will never see his sons again. Watch as Jemma figures out that Tara was never pregnant and is setting her up.
