Less than 3 weeks remain before “Sons of Anarchy” begins its final ride. Season 7 will be the last season for the series about a motorcycle club from California, who despite their best efforts, always seems to end up on the wrong side of things. On Aug. 20, MTV shared some spoilers from the upcoming Season 7 premiere and it does sound like it’s going to be a wild ride.

First and foremost, the episode is dark. Given that we are picking up just 10 days after Tara’s brutal murder at the hands of the club’s matriarch, Gemma, that seems a given. It seems that all the club has faced over the last six years is piling up and setting the stage for what’s to come. In spite of the intensity, the episode is not without levity, some moments including Juice who is at anything but a happy place in his life.

Another big Season 7 spoiler is that Gemma is definitely suffering pangs of guilt over her actions. Jax appears cool and calm on the outside but we know he’s seething just under the surface. Gemma on the other hand, is not behaving like we’d expect. She’s not doping and boozing to sooth her pain. Instead, she’s surprisingly turning to characters we wouldn’t have expected for support. She’s even playing nice with Wendy. She’s also having out loud conversations with Tara as though her deceased daughter-in-law is sitting right there with her. Eerie, huh? We think so too. Her guilt isn’t keeping her from deflecting blame for her actions though, in an effort to keep Jax and the gang from discovering her involvement.

You may remember that Jax wanted out of SAMCRO and at one time, that was his driving force. With Tara gone, that desire has turned to dust. With the boys out of the gun trade, his focus is now on setting up the right alliances so the bloodshed can stop. His attempt to be a great leader is overshadowed by his need for vengeance, however. This is a Jax more violent than we’ve ever seen. When Gemma frames a rival gang for what she suggests was a “hit” on Tara, things get gory and fast.

Where does all this leave Juice? After killing Sheriff Roosevelt and covering for Gemma which is tantamount to betraying Jax, let’s just say he’s not in a good place. He’s cut off from the gang and living in hiding with only two allies to count on. One is Gemma of course because they are in this together. The other is a Season 7 spoiler we just can’t share. His secret will come out. Someone finds out and is forced to, as MTV put it, “take matters into his own, very unstable hands.” Any guesses who it might be?

Nero is still around and doing his best to help maintain the peace between SAMCRO and the Mayans. His “good guy” efforts are seriously taxed when Jax takes action against the rival club Gemma implicates in Tara’s murder.

We’ve all been hearing about Marilyn Manson’s stint on the show. As Ron Tully, a top player in the Aryan Brotherhood in the prison where we first catch up with Jax, he is someone Jax needs help from. In order to catch his attention, Jax resorts to horrific tactics and the stomach-churning scene takes place early in the episode.

There is no point asking if you are excited to see the premiere of “Sons of Anarchy” because we know you are. We hope these Season 7 spoilers have only whetted your appetite. The 1 hour and 45 minute premiere will air FX on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
