Drea de Matteo has been upgraded to a series regular on "Sons of Anarchy" and the question on everyone's mind is what does Kurt Sutter have planned for her character, Wendy? There are a lot of theories on what her storyline will be. Is it possible that she will not only be there for Jax in his time of grieving, but will help raise Abel and Thomas? Chances are that she will be doing more than just playing house. On Jan. 8, Latin Times wrote about Wendy and what viewers might expect from her.

Warning: If you do not want to know "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 spoilers or fan speculation, then stop reading.

There has been speculation that Wendy will be there to comfort Jax as he deals with the loss of his wife, Tara. While she is doing that, she will probably take the opportunity to try to be a mother to her son, Abel. But there has to be more to her storyline than that. There are plenty of speculations on what will happen with her character on season 7.

One theory is that she will find out that it was Gemma who murdered Tara. Gemma has manipulated Wendy in the past and even though she took care of her after her overdose, sent her to rehab and told her she was "family," Gemma can flip her loyalty like a switch. If Wendy were to find out what she did, she could hold the upper hand for once. If she told Jax that it was his own mother who killed Tara, she would be one step closer to gaining his trust and maybe even his respect.

Another speculation that some fans have been talking about is the possibility of Wendy killing Gemma. Those two don't have the most pleasant history. While Wendy has been easily manipulated in the past, she may come out of rehab this time stronger. If Gemma is not able to control her like she used to, things may get pretty nasty between the two.

Whatever her storyline is, there is definitely more to it than just being there for Jax and his kids. If that were the case, then she wouldn't have been promoted to series regular. With her being a major presence on season 7, there is probably a bigger purpose for her character.

What are your thought on Drea de Matteo being promoted to series regular? What do you think her storyline will be in season 7?
