According to "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 spoilers dished out by creator, Kurt Sutter, Jax Teller "has the potential to go completely off the handle."
Enstars reports Dec. 22 that Sutter explained in an interview with TV Line that after Tara's death at the hands of his mother, Gemma, "obviously it's a major shift in the mythology." The creator said he knew "ultimately, where I wanted to take Jax in [the] final season... I wanted to remove his 'True North,' because I feel like there needs to be this major psychic and emotional shift that has to happen. What direction it will push him in we will see next season."
After Tara and Opie's death, Jax will have lost both of his "moral compasses" in the two characters. This gives him a profound platform in the storyline to go either way in his world.
"What happens to a guy like that now that he's lost both of the people he loves the most, who were able to be his moral compass, with Opie and now Tara. It really is Jax completely untethered and on his own final season," Sutter said.
Season 7 will be the final one for "Sons of Anarchy." Fans were left stunned when Gemma brutally killed Tara before she realized that the woman her son loved never ratted on SAMCRO. When Jax found his slain wife, he cradled her in his arms -- completely unaware that his own mother murdered her in cold blood.
With season 7 being the last one, Kurt Sutter has free rein to go a million directions with the show. Spoilers for the rugged drama all season have indicated that the show will end with some type of "comeuppance." He addressed this after the school shooting that aired on the premiere.
"Sons of Anarchy" season 7 airs Fall 2014 on FX.
