'Sons of Anarchy' season 7 spoilers: Nero, Barosky, Patterson returning

Sons of Anarchy” showrunner Kurt Sutter is busy lining up cast for season 7 even though it is months away from production. According to Enstarz on Feb. 26, the writer/executive producer recently talked about what characters will be returning for the series’ final season.

In addition to headliners Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller and Katey Sagal who play Gemma Teller Morrow, fans can expect to see Jimmy Smits as Nero Padilla and Peter Weller as Charles Barosky in season 7.

The character of Tyne Patterson is uncertain at this point because actress CCH Pounder recently accepted a role in a pilot episode of “NCIS: New Orleans.” She could be back for a few episodes but it depends on whether or not the pilot is picked up as a series.

Kim Dickens who plays Collette Jane has also accepted work on a new series which could make her unavailable for season 7 of ‘Sons.’

Few spoilers for season 7 have been leaked yet but what we do know is that Sutter is lobbying FX to allow him to make more than the standard 13 episodes for the season. A number of the season 6 episodes ran longer than 60 minutes and having extra episodes with which to wrap up the series would be good for Sutter and for fans.

“Sons of Anarchy” season 7 premieres sometime in fall 2014 on FX, though no specific start date has been set yet.
