‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: Jax and Gemma’s love-hate relationship

If you are up to date on the goings on in Charming, then the discussion of the dynamics between Jax Teller and his mother, Gemma Teller Morrow, will not come as a surprise to you. On Jan. 30, Latin Post opted to explore some of the possibilities for the new season 7 of “Sons of Anarchy” and we have taken it a bit farther. Be warned that there are spoilers ahead and read on at your own risk.

In the season 6 finale, Gemma brutally murdered Jax’s wife, Tara. Gemma believed she was protecting Jax from Tara’s betrayal but Gemma was misinformed. Tara was Jax’s only shot at a normal life. Show creator Kurt Sutter took her out of the show as a means of exploring Jax’s emotions more deeply. Sutter has this to say about his vision for Jax:

"But what happens to a guy like that now that he's lost both of the people he loves the most, who were able to be his moral compass, with Opie and now Tara. It really is Jax completely untethered and on his own in the final season."

Gemma is capable of anything as we’ve now seen. Is she capable of standing by while Jax is charged with his wife’s brutal homicide? Now Gemma stands to be the one to help Jax raise Able and Thomas so Tara’s death could make the mother-son bond even stronger.

Of course this could be bad news for Wendy as played by Drea De Mateo. De Mateo is returning in the role of Jax’s ex-wife, the reformed junkie. She has been promoted to series regular. As Abel’s birth mother, she may step into the mother role which would not make Gemma very happy.

Will Jax find out about Gemma? Juice Ortiz found Gemma standing over Tara’s lifeless body just as Charming’s finest were about to happen upon the scene. He shot Lt. Roosevelt dead, helped get Gemma out of there and was keeping what he knew to himself at the end of the show. Will he continue to do so?

Here’s what Sutter about Juice and Gemma:

"I don't think it was a calculated move on Juice's part [to save Gemma]; in the moment he did what was expected of him ... But now the great thing is that we get this rich dynamic between the two of them. They were tied with the whole Clay of it all and now they're deeply tied with this secret ... Now we have really something fun to play with.”

“Sons of Anarchy” will return sometime in the fall of 2014. Until then, keep checking back here for more updates and spoilers.
