‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in August

Fans of the FX motorcycle club series “Sons of Anarchy” may be excited to learn that season 6 will be available on DVD and Blu-ray later this summer. According to a June 24 post on Gotham News, the discs will be released on August 26 – just in time to refresh or catch up for season 7 airs later this fall.

Season 6 was arguably the most action-packed and tension-filled season to date. Clay and Tara both find themselves in prison and Jax struggles to do what’s right for his family and his club. Still on a mission to return the club to a more legitimate direction as his own father once tried to do, Jax faces opposition and betrayal around every corner. SAMCRO’s bloody legacy dogs his every move. The intensity builds as the body count rises. Secrets are revealed before the shocking season finale occurs, making this one of the most controversial seasons yet.

Special features on the DVD and Blu-ray include deleted scenes and a gag reel. Commentaries are included, too. For episode 1, “Straw,” the commentary is provided by Kurt Sutter, Paris Barclay, and Jimmy Smits. For episode 13, the finale titled “A Mother’s Work,” commentary is provided by Kurt Sutter, Paris Barclay, Maggie Siff and Katey Sagal. Other features included are “Anarchy Afterword: Season Premiere, The Mad King and the Season Finale, Character Good Byes and Sons for Sandy.

The season 6 collection is perfect for fans who sat on the edge of their seat week after week to watch the excitement or for those just catching up on all the action. The Kurt Sutter-created show stars Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Ryan Hurst, Theo Rossi, William Lucking, Dayton Callie, David Labrava, Niko Nicotera, Fernando Andrade, Danny Trejo, Jimmy Smitts and Rockmond Dunbar.

Season 7 of “Sons of Anarchy” is in production now. It is expected to premiere on FX sometime in September.
