"Sons of Anarchy" season 6 is all about the moment for Katey Sagal, who portrays Gemma on the hit FX series. She was asked some questions about her thoughts on the final episode as well as a few about the character of Jax while she was attending the Television Critics Association. Crave Online published the answers to her questions Sept. 3.
Sagal was asked if she thinks much about the last episode of "Sons of Anarchy" when it airs at the end of season 7.
"Oh no, we’re in season six so I won’t think about it. I don’t really want to," Sagal said. "You know it’s funny, I don’t even really know what’s going to happen this season. I’m sort of on board with everybody else. I get scripts as they come out. I read them as they come out."
The actress was asked what she predicts about Jax and the manifesto.
"You know, we haven’t dealt with the manifesto that much right now and I don’t know if more of that will leak in," she said. "That’s sort of the mythology that everything is based on. It might leak back in. I don’t really know. You’d have to ask Kurt."
Sagal said she would like to see Gemma more "aggressive" and in season 6 viewers will see more of her "cut through the crap," basically.
"She starts out very happy, sort of zen like, some stuff’s going to happen so she gets to it," Sagal shared. "That’s really fun to play.
Gemma is the type of character who is several steps ahead of everyone else because she's used to living in a world where she has to be "guarded," Sagal observed. In season 6, Gemma will be in a "wiser" place. Sagal cautions against describing Gemma in a "gentle" situation with her new family arrangements in season 6, but she said the character will be less harsh.
"Sons of Anarchy" season 6 premieres Sept. 10 at 10 p.m., ET/PT on FX.
