Sonoma County Roller Derby to take on Central Coast

On Saturday July 11th, the girls of Central Coast Roller Derby will travel up the coast from Paso Robles to Rohnert Park to battle against the Sonoma County team The Wine Country Home Wreckers. This will be the first game between these two teams.

Sonoma is fresh off a rewarding victory of the Sac City Rollers (120 - 56) last month. With an April win at home against the Santa Cruz Derby Girls (167 - 56), the North Bay team is looking to extend their currently perfect home record this season.

Central Coast was victorious in their last game as well. CCRD played the junior varsity travel team from the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls last month and managed to squeak out a 90 -88 victory over the nationally ranked B.A.D. Girls.

Prior to that, Central Coast has been on a long and disappointing losing streak. They failed to advance to the second round at "The Big One," an all-California flat track roller derby tournament held in May. In April alone they lost three consecutive games to the San Diego Derby Dolls (179 - 47), Sac City Rollers (111 - 97), and Sacred City Derby Girls (103 - 48).

Central Coast appears to be skating short this game with only 12 skaters. Conspicuously missing from their roster is veteran jammer Resident Vixen.

Sonoma County is also rostering a different group of skaters. Missing this game will be long-time skater and league president D.Enforcer as well as two core jammers -- All Onya and High Roller.
