In a Facebook Q&A with fans on Halloween, the singer was asked: "Hi Cher, if Sonny Bono were still alive today, but you only had a minute to talk to him, what would you say?”
Cher, 67, responded, “How hot is it where you just came from?"
The legendary singer has had very much of a love-hate relationship with her late ex-husband, so the answer did not shock many who know the couple’s history.
Young romance and ugly divorce
Cher met Bono in 1962 and the couple married two years later. She was 16 when they met. Bono was 11 years her senior.
They were breakout stars in the late 1960s and 1970s, best-know for the Sonny & Cher show and their iconic hit, “I got you Babe.” The couple’s only child, Chastity Sun Bono was born in 1969. (Chastity is now known as Chaz after first announcing that she was a lesbian and then transgendered and undergoing gender reassignment surgery.)

The couple divorced in 1975.
Bono died after hitting a tree while skiing at the Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe in 1998. He was 62.
Cher has been open about their rocky relationship. She said Bono was a “huge womanizer.” Bono admitted to infidelity in an autobiography. Ironically, he opposed California’s gay rights Bill 101which was ultimately defeated in 1991, telling KGO Radio’s Ronn Owens that homosexuality was against his morals.
Cher had a softer response when she was asked again about Sonny from another fan.
Do you miss Sonny?” the fan asked.
“I think about him a lot sometimes,” she replied. “There are things about him that I miss.”
