As we reported Thursday, liberal hatemongers freaked out over a picture tweeted by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, showing him and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, kneeling next to a tiger skin rug. Among those who expressed outrage was award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, who issued a tweet expressing her desire to see Cruz dead, Twitchy reported Friday.

"I wish It could trade places w U and smile over ur body, (sic)" she wrote in a profanity-laced tweet.

Twitchy observed that Warren is "the prolific, award-winning songwriter behind Aerosmith’s 'I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,' Toni Braxton’s 'Un-break My Heart' and dozens of other hits." She also appointed herself the voice of all gays, minorities and ducks in another profanity-laced tweet attacking Duck Dynasty and A&E last December.

Some, predictably, agreed with Warren that Cruz should be killed for posing with the rug. Others, however, took her to task for her violent rhetoric.

"Wish you cared more about the men who died in #Benghazi & the victims of #Obamacare than that tiger. Pathetic," one person said in response.

"Wow. You apparently need to lighten up & get a sense of humor. It was a JOKE. Settle down," another person added, suggesting Warren do something to help her calm down.

As it turns out, the photo was simply a joke posted by Cruz, the Washington Post reported.

Cruz spokeswoman Catharine Frazier told the Post he was hosting a fundraiser for Lee and the two men happened across the rug in Houston. Cruz, she added, had no intention of bringing the rug back to Washington and did not say if the rug was even a real tiger, which the Post said is an endangered species.

Nevertheless, the picture sparked anger among the liberal hate machine, prompting many to wish death on Cruz. Colby Itkowitz posted some of the violent rhetoric issued by liberals and quickly noted her column -- known as "In the Loop" -- does not "condone or endorse violence."

Frazier also said Cruz's office is not defensive of the picture, but noted the hypocrisy shown by many on the left: “It’s unfortunate the same outrage isn’t displayed by the left when it comes to defending the lives of hundreds of thousands of unborn babies aborted every year.”

It's not the first time liberals have wished death on Cruz. As we have reported several times, the Texas conservative is often the target of liberal hate. Last September, for example, liberal talker Mike Malloy said he would provide a butcher knife to kill Cruz.

In June 2013, a Houston man was accused of threatening to kidnap, murder and burn Cruz and his father. Nick Gates reportedly also threatened to "blow up" the sun if he wasn't paid $3 million.
