'Songs for Japan,' Adele, 'American Idol' top iTunes albums chart April 8, 2011

"Songs for Japan" by Various Artists, "21" by Adele, and "American Idol Top 9 Season 10" by Various Artists are the top three most downloaded albums on the iTunes albums chart for Friday, April 8, 2011.

"Songs for Japan" by Various Artists takes the top spot with 38 songs recorded by the hottest artists of the past decades.  Highlights from this album are plentiful and include "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Firework" by Katy Perry, "Only Girl (In the World)" by Rihanna, and "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. 

Other notable tracks on "Songs for Japan" by Various Artists include "Save Me (Clean Version)" by Nicki Minaj, "Pray (Acoustic Version)" by Justin Bieber, and "Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer.  You can buy the album featuring all 38 tracks for just $9.99 on iTunes.

The number three album on the iTunes chart for this date is "American Idol Top 9 Season 10" by Various Artists.  The album features American Idol contestants singing studio versions of songs they used during the "American Idol" competition.  Some notable tracks on the album include Casey Abrams singing "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," and James Durbin's rendition of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
