As the moon grows fuller, the countdown begins to Halloween. And its not just kids who enjoy getting into their spooky alter ego! But when hosting a party for adult werewolves and ghouls a hostess needs more than just good food and drink, they also need a lively game or two! Games get the party group up out of their chairs and interacting, and a game involving songs is one everyone can play and will enjoy.
Halloween Party Game #1 – Name that Tune
The host and/or hostess moderate this game and tracks points. They play a snippet of a song and ask for the song’s title and artist’s name. A theme could be used, such as Disco, The Eighties, Rock Bands, or Movie soundtracks, etc.
The group is divided into teams and taking turns, each team is given the first chance to ID the song’s information. If they can’t, the opportunity moves to the next team. Once a team wins, points are tallied and announced. Then a bonus trivia question regarding that song is asked, open to all teams. Wikipedia is a good resource for the trivia questions. Here are song examples to get the list started:
Song: Celebration
Artist: Kool and the Gang
Trivia: What year was it released? (1980) What soft drink advertisement featured a version of it? (Diet Orange Crush)
Song: Lookin’ for Love (in all wrong places)

Halloween Party Game #2 – Song Trivia
Most everyone loves music, but who knows that interesting trivia behind it? This game provides up to five trivia clues about a song or an artist, ranging from most difficult to easiest,. until the song is guessed. Working in teams, the first team to answer correctly gets the point value of the question; the first question worth 5 points, the fifth question worth one. Example:

Halloween Party Game #3 – Dance Freeze Contest
This is a simple game for ghouls of all ages, and it will get everyone on their feet! ! Put on Halloween music and instruct the entire group to get up and do the Monster Mash. When the music stops, they must freeze in place until the music resumes. If someone moves prematurely, they are eliminated. The last person frozen, wins! (This games is especially funny after a few cocktails have gone down!) While the party groups stands frozen, get busy snapping that camera to capture the funny scene.
Push aside the spiderwebs, turn up the speakers and watch your Halloween party come alive to the music. Get Dracula biting, the Mummy unraveling and Frankie moon walking. There’s nothing spookier than lively dead people!
