Son reports health of Billy Graham declining - prayers for Dr. Graham

Franklin Graham, son of world famous evangelist Billy Graham, announced that his father’s health has declined quite a bit in the last few days.

The 95 year old preacher preached his last sermon on a world-wide hook up recently when he said that he has been weeping for America.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association says that he has preached to as many a 215 million people in more than 185 countries. Hundreds of millions have listened to his impassioned preaching via television and radio.

William Franklin Graham, Jr, was born on November 7, 1918 in North Carolina to a dairy farmer. He grew up milking cows and living the life of a country boy never realizing the ultimate plan God had for his life. Millions have come to know Christ and found new life and new purpose because of his straight forward preaching. He has preached to more live audiences than anyone in history.

His son reported, "He just hasn't been able to get his strength back," Franklin Graham said. "His vitals are good, but he's just extremely weak."

The younger Graham added that he wasn't sure if his father knew that Nelson Mandela passed away.

Billy Graham, who has been in ill health for a number of years, has been regularly listed in polls as one of the "Ten Most Admired Men in the World."

Early on when he was called to preach, he knew God had a purpose for his life and he said, “My one purpose in life," he said, "is to help people find a personal relationship with God, which, I believe, comes through knowing Christ."

God’s Word has said that He would never leave the world without a witness – and during these declining years of health and advanced age, many have wondered who God would raise up to continue the work of evangelizing the world.

The scripture says that each one born has a destiny with natural death on this earth; but anyone who comes to Christ can have eternal life through His sacrifice at Calvary. Every truly born-again Christian cherishes the thought of hearing these words from God, “Well done my good and faithful servant!” The day that Mr. Graham makes his eternal journey, I think we shall heat the bells of heaven ringing and the voices of the angels singing.

Oh that we had men and women of God such as Mr. Graham to lead our country back to God. God’s Word says that Jesus’ twelve disciples turned the world upside down.

“And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, ‘These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.” Acts 17:6

Imagine what the world would be like if we had twelve more Billy Graham’s in this world. Imagine what America would be like if our rulers were faithful followers of Christ.

Our prayers and love are with you Billy. You have blessed the lives of so many, and millions have called you “friend.”
