On the morning of February 9th, in the Studio at Lincoln Center, Son Jung Wan marked her fifth season at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. This time, in “DYNAMIC ROMANCE”, she paid homage to two Russian (the flavor of the season, it seems) greats: Kandinsky and Catherine Palace.
Featuring jewel tone gowns, chic felt neutral jackets and carmel pleated wool dresses, Son used ox blood red, sapphire blue, and violet to accentuate a neutral core of beige, gray and metallics. The latter, most memorably came in the form of a fox fur coat sprinkled with sequins and a chic gold sequined tank jumper.
But the gelato-hued mini shifts were also head-turners, with their flounces of feathers or subtle migrations o texture. Straightforward and sassy, these stylish spoonfuls may just have you leaving your LBD (little black dress for the uninitiated) at home next time you party hop. (Yes, even in New York City.) Fall will be here before you know it, so be ready to scoop 'en up then.
