Something other than Guinness for St. Patrick's Day

If you're looking for an easy drinking, readily available beer for St. Patrick's Day that isn't Guinness, you're in luck. Samuel Adams "Irish-Red" is available year-round and packs more of a punch than its cousin from across the Atlantic. Beyond that, it's about the most Irish-American beer you can buy since it hails from Boston, MA.

"Irish-Red" is a great example of what an Irish Red Ale is supposed to be. A sweet malty backbone and subtle earthy hop profile make this a beer you can sip on all day long (and all night for that matter). So if you're looking to avoid the dark beer this St. Patrick's Day, I encourage you to give Sam Adams "Irish-Red" a try. It's as American as an Irish beer can get.
