How about that sunshine today? We reached 57 this afternoon at Philly International Airport after a mild low of 38 this morning. It actually felt like April outside, but unlike April it won't last at all. There is an area of low pressure sliding to the northeast along a cold front that pushed through earlier Sunday morning(it sure didn't feel cool behind that front!) providing rain showers overnight.
Lows will hold steady in the 40s, but behind the area of low pressure will be very cold air so in fact after Midnight temperatures will fall and settle into the 30s by the afternoon(but not before having some light wet snow showers in the morning before the low pressure area pushes offshore). It will be a cold overnight with lows in the upper teens and then come Tuesday highs will be in the middle 30s.
Come Tuesday night there will be a quick moving clipper system diving south and across the Delmarva; there will also be another area of low pressure along the Tennessee River Valley that may bring us some light snow showers overnight with lows in the middle teens and highs come Wednesday just above freezing.
It stays cold through the rest of the week with another clipper system Thursday night into Friday, but then there's yet another potential low for the weekend(but I'm not sold on that just yet). You can check the rest of the 7-day forecast(any time) at www.scottderekwx.com/forecast.html.
