The Chicago Bulls’ star point guard Derrick Rose is suffering from stomach ulcers according to several reports. He says his energy is kind of low now, but Rose has youth and a fit body on his side. This two-time All Star and former “Rookie of the Year” believes he got ulcers from eating too many spicy foods. He plans to cut back.
An ulcer is an open sore or break in the mucous membrane lining of the stomach or first portion of the small intestine. It is exacerbated by stomach acid and other digestive juices, but caused by H. pylori bacteria.
Derrick Rose had signs and symptoms of ulcers with complaints of heartburn and difficulty eating, drinking and swallowing.
Antibiotics and other medications that lower stomach acids are prescribed for ulcers. For natural remedies to help the body heal from ulcers include plants such as Aloe Vera, which comes in juice form and is healing to the stomach lining and neutralizes acid immediately. It is recommended to take 2 ounces before meals. Gastro-Health is a natural herbal supplement that helps ulcers also, by fighting H. pylori. It is soothing and has a combination of digestive stimulants and antibacterial. It is recommended to take two capsules four times a day. This supplement has herbs such as pau d’arco bark extract, clove flower powder extract, Inula racemosa root extract and capsicum fruit.
For the All-Star to be ready for the 2011 All-Star game in February Rose needs to change over to a healthier diet, taking spicy foods, caffeine, tea, alcohol and soft drinks out of the diet, plus stop eating lots of candy. It is reported he loves Skittles®. If he follows these practices he can be an even better player on the courts.
If Derrick Rose follows the recommended nutritionist, chefs and herbalist mentioned below from previous articles he’d be happy he did. He will go on to be the amazing player he is for years to come.
