- Sept. 27, 1961: Beatles, Cavern Club.
- Sept. 27, 1962: Bob Dylan is reviewed in the New York Times for the first time.
- Sept. 27, 1963: Ringo Starr judges the National Beat Group Competition at the Prince of Wales Theatre. Other judges include Cilla Black, Brian Epstein, Billy Hatton of the Fourmost and Alan Freeman. Out of the 11 groups, none achieved any sort of fame.
- Sept. 27, 1967: Overdubs on "I Am the Walrus."
- Sept. 27, 1986: Movies "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Back to School" push "Twist and Shout" back into the charts. It hits #23.
