Beatles and Beatle-related events on May 1:
- May 1, 1966: The Beatles make their last appearance at the NME Pollwinners Concert, singing "I Feel Fine," "Nowhere Man," "Day Tripper," "If I Needed Someone" and "I'm Down." The show, their last live concert performance in Britain (outside of the rooftop concert) was televised, except for the Beatles' and Rolling Stones' sets. Their award presentations were included, though. (See the video at left.) Others on the bill included the Spencer Davis Group, Roy Orbison, the Fortunes, Herman's Hermits, the Small Faces, Dusty Springfield, the Who, the Yardbirds, the Walker Brothers, Crispian St. Peters, the Rolling Stones, the Seekers, the Alan Price Set and the Shadows.
- May 1, 1961: Top Ten engagement in Hamburg continues.
- May 1, 1962: The Beatles' Star-Club engagement continues.
- May 1, 1963: Tony Barrow is hired as Beatles press agent.
- May 1, 1964: BBC taping for "For Us To You." They sing "I Saw Her Standing There," "Kansas City"/"Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey!," "I Forgot to Remember to Forget," "You Can't Do That," "Sure to Fall (In Love With You)," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Matchbox" and "Honey Don't."
- May 1, 1967: "I Don't Want to See You Again"/"Woman" by Peter and Gordon, with the A-side written by Lennon-McCartney and the b-side by Bernard Webb (aka Paul McCartney) released in the U.S.
- May 1, 1969: Stereo mixing for "Oh! Darling."
- May 1, 1970: George Harrison and Bob Dylan do some studio jamming during sessions for Bob Dylan's "New Morning" album.
- May 1, 1990: George Harrison makes a guest appearance during an Eric Clapton concert in Los Angeles.
- May 1, 1998: Paul McCartney exhibits his artwork in Siegen, Germany.
