  • July 23, 1964: The Beatles are featured in "The Night of a Hundred Stars" along with such name as Sir Laurence Olivier and Judy Garland. They do a flying ballet sketch and brief musical set.

  • July 23, 1945: Dino Danelli of the Young Rascals, whose looks were compared to Paul McCartney, is born. 
  • July 23, 1947: David Essex, who played Jim McLaine, a Paul McCartney-like character in 1974 film "Stardust" co-starring Adam Faith and Larry Hagman, is born. In this sequel to "That'll Be the Day" Keith Moon reprises his role of J.D. Clover from the earlier film with Ringo Starr. Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe are also in the cast.
