- July 18, 1974: The U.S. government orders John Lennon to leave the country by Sept. 10 after he is denied a visa extension.
- July 18, 1962: (Lunchtime and evening) Cavern Club, Liverpool.
- July 18, 1963: Recording of "You Really Got a Hold on Me," "Money (That's What I Want)," "(There's a) Devil in Her Heart" and "'Til There Was You."
- July 18, 1966: Bobby Fuller, leader of the Bobby Fuller Four, is found dead in his car in Los Angeles. The group had a big hit with the song "I Fought the Law."
- July 18, 1968: Work on "Cry Baby Cry," "Helter Skelter."
- July 18, 1969: Work on "Oh! Darling" and "Octopus' Garden."
