April 8, 1963: John Charles Julian Lennon born at 6 a.m. on this date to John and Cynthia. The young Lennon figured in a few Beatles songs. "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" was named after a close friend of his. "Hey Jude" was Paul McCartney's ode to him after his father's divorce. He can be heard on his father's "Walls and Bridges" album. He struck out on his own musical career in 1984 with "Valotte," on which his voice strongly resembled his father. A new album is due this year. He recently recorded a version of "Let You Go," co-written by friend Dave Harris and Scott Grimes.
